This Friday afternoon, the fifth journey at the 2015 US Open tennis Championship, Santi Giraldo and Junaid Rameez played against the pair formed by the british Jaimie Murray and the australian Jhon Peers ranked 15th in the world.

The court 17 was the scenery where the double players met at 17:30 local time, to dispute to go through to R3 of the tournament. The match lasted one hour and 7 minutes and the victory was for the eigth seed of the tournament, in run sets with score 1-6 5-7.

The first set Colombo-Australian couple gave a fight, however, Murray and Peers experience was an important factor to defeat Santi´s service and Junaid to win the first set 6-1.

In the second set, Santi and Junaid improved their game and forced Murray and Peers to play long rallies with no forced errors. However in the eleventh game of the set, the British and the Australian broke and took the second set for 7-5.

 Murray/Peers have achieved this season semi-finals in the s-Hertogenborch Open and third round in Roland Garros, also Masters 1000 quarters finals in Rome and Madrid and now they’re advancing to third round in the last Grand Slam of the season, the US Open.

Going forward, Santi will prepare himself to play the Davis Cups in his homeland, Pereira, looking for a victory that will allow Colombia to advance to the World Group.
