On the night of the 5th of November a celebration of the Colombian tennis took place at the Emerald Room of the Tequendama Hotel in Bogota. The Tennis Gala Night had its eighth edition on an event that paid tribute to the players of the 2014 season. This event gathers players, trainers, executive managers and the press, year after year.
Santi Giraldo was awarded and named as best player. He was recognized for his great performance throughout 2014. Giraldo is the first and only Colombian tennis player that has reached the 28th position of the world ranking on September 29th, the best of his career, although, he closes the year on the 31st.
On the other hand, Felipe Berón was awarded as best trainer and Alejandro González as best new player. The doubles team formed by Robert Farah and Juan Sebastián Cabal received a special mention.
The career of each one of these athletes had a performance without precedent. The support of the fans was essential throughout the season and it was the reason that motivated the players to move forward on every tournament in 2014.
