Our Colombian player debuted at the R1 of the Prostejov Challenger, Czech Republic, against the Romanian Marius Copil, around 4 am.

The match lasted around an hour and a half and ended up with final scores of 7-6(4) and 6-2.

Santi came out with a great disposition to add as many points as possible to keep moving forward in the ATP ranking.

In the first set, the Romanian player was playing head to head with the Colombian player and both scored break points despite the high percentage of first serves from Santi (86%). The set went to tie break where Santi showed his experience and took the set by 7-4.

In the second set, Santi won half of Marius’ first and second serves to break the Romanian player’s serve in two of three chances he had. Santi kept up his good work with his serve and won the set by 6-2.

This way Santi moves to the R2 where he will face Filip Krajinovic, who just defeated the Italian, Lucca Vanni with a similar final score.

Let’s not forget that Santi is the seeded number 5 of the tournament and got a wild card to participate.

The winner of this Challenger will receive 125 points for the ATP ranking.
